About the Role:

Are you an energetic, nurturing, and organized teacher with a passion for early childhood education? The Art Farm NYC is looking for a Lead Preschool Camp Teacher to join our summer camp program for children ages 2-3 on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. This is the perfect opportunity for an experienced, creative teacher who loves working with young children in a fun and dynamic environment. You’ll have the chance to lead one of our classrooms and create a summer full of hands-on experiences and exciting lessons that incorporate science, nature, and live animals.

As a Lead Preschool Camp Teacher, you'll guide our little learners through an engaging and enriching curriculum. You’ll be responsible for creating a positive, nurturing classroom environment where children can explore, learn, and grow. You'll also get to take the classroom outside for outdoor play, nature activities, and lots of summer fun!

What We Need from You:

• Experience: At least 2 years of documented experience as a group teacher with children under six years of age, and at least 1 year of lead teaching experience in a school setting.
• Educational Credentials: A bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or Elementary Education.
• Passion for Learning: Interested in facilitating learning through hands-on experiences that include science, nature, and animals.
• Creativity: Implement and bring new, creative ideas to the curriculum.
• Flexibility & Energy: Be comfortable with outdoor play and enjoy the summer camp environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead one of our classrooms with children ages 2-3 years old
• Create and implement lesson plans based on the provided curriculum
• Facilitate hands-on learning experiences in art, animal science, cooking, and more
• Supervise daily outdoor play, including playground and sprinkler activities
• Foster a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment
• Communicate effectively with parents and the camp team
• Participate in required job screenings, trainings, and fingerprinting screening

• A passion for early childhood education and hands-on learning
• Experience teaching preschool-age children in a group setting
• A friendly, organized, and nurturing approach to teaching
• Ability to work collaboratively with a team and maintain a positive attitude
