• Additional options:
  • Take Wednesdays and Thursdays off completely
  • Be available as a substitute on an as-needed basis
  • Work as an extended day teacher from 2:00–6:00pm

About the Role:
Are you a positive, energetic, and creative individual who loves working with kids? The Art Farm NYC is looking for Assistant Camp Teachers to join our dynamic summer camp program! Our comprehensive camp serves children ages 2-9, providing a fun and safe environment for growth, learning, and creativity. As an Assistant Camp Teacher, you'll work alongside co-teachers and camp leadership to deliver top-notch programs, ensuring that each camper enjoys a safe, enriching experience. Whether you’re leading activities, supporting behavior management, or assisting with physical education, you'll play a key role in making our summer program unforgettable for campers and their families!

Key Responsibilities:

• Follow schedules and lesson plans set by the camp director
• Address any child behavior concerns with the support of your team
• Promote camper safety and well-being throughout the camp day
• Lead physical education activities when required
• Provide friendly, helpful customer service to families, campers, and staff
• Help motivate staff to create engaging and safe programs
• Model a professional appearance and responsible behavior for staff and campers
• Respond effectively to any emergencies that arise
• Record medical incidents and fill out required paperwork
• Attend pre-program training and scheduled staff meetings

Ideal Candidates Will Have:

• A passion for working with children
• A friendly, approachable, and positive attitude
• Ability to work in compliance with all NYS childcare guidelines (The camp is licensed by the NYC Board of Health)
• Experience in an educational, childcare, or summer camp setting (preferred but not required)
