About the Role:
Are you an energetic, nurturing, and organized educator with a passion for early childhood development? Join The Art Farm NYC at our center-based preschool location, where we focus on children ages 2-3. This is an exciting opportunity for a creative teacher to lead a classroom in a warm, dynamic environment designed for our youngest learners.
As a Lead Preschool Teacher, you will guide toddlers through a thoughtfully designed curriculum that promotes hands-on learning, creativity, and exploration. You’ll create a safe, nurturing classroom where children can thrive socially, emotionally, and cognitively—both indoors and outdoors.
What We’re Looking For:
Education: Must have one of the following:
Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field,
New York State Teacher Certification, or
An approved study plan for completing an education degree.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years teaching young children (under 6), with at least 1 year in a lead teaching role in a preschool or early childhood setting.
Passion & Creativity: Enthusiastic about facilitating learning through science, nature, art, and interactive play. Able to bring new, creative ideas to the curriculum.
Flexibility & Energy: Comfortable with outdoor activities and excited about creating engaging experiences for toddlers.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a classroom of children ages 2-3.
Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans aligned with our curriculum.
Facilitate hands-on activities including art, nature exploration, science, and cooking.
Supervise daily outdoor play and physical activities.
Maintain a safe, positive, and nurturing learning environment.
Communicate regularly and professionally with parents and the teaching team.
Participate in all required trainings, screenings, and fingerprinting.
Ideal Candidate:
Passionate about early childhood education and toddler development.
Experienced in managing preschool-age children in a group classroom setting.
Friendly, organized, and nurturing with excellent teamwork skills.
Enjoys outdoor play and is comfortable leading physical activities.
